After the teams returned from international breaks last week, this week should be clearer BUT some of the teams on the continent will be more focused there. It is also the time relegation threatened clubs start upsetting the apple carts, as we saw with West Brom winning at Chelsea last week. As usual, we have the Bankers, the Banana Peels and the Boald Calls. We will be as direct as possible, too much analysis no dey bring money.

BANKERS

In the Premier League, Manchester City vs Leeds should produce goals. Over 2.5 comes at around 1.4. For bigger odds, you could go for both to score.

Chelsea should bounce back from last week’s defeat, away at Selhurst Park. They are in a comfortable place in their Champions League tie, they should focus here. A Chelsea win comes at around 1.5. Don’t sleep on it.

Tottenham vs Manchester United, the Mourinho Derby is too close to call. Expect both sides to go for goals. Tottenham’s defence especially, can’t hold water. Over 1.5 comes at around 1.3, if you must play this game at all.

Son will hope for another dance performance

Real Madrid and Barcelona go into the El Clasico in good forms. They both know a win will take them closer to the tittle. It is a game that should produce goals. Both to score comes at around 1.5, go for it.

Barcelona and Real Madrid go head-to-head

In the Serie A, both Inter Milan and Juventus have home matches against Cagliari and Genoa respectively. Both should win. Juventus should overcome their recent struggles here. A win for them comes at around 1.3. Inter Milan are in good form and coasting to the title, they are also valued at around 1.3 for a win.

Atalanta should win away against Fiorentina. It comes at around 1.5. Atalanta should do enough for a win, to solidify their push for Continental places. Over 1.5 could be a safer bet.

BANANA PEELS

There are many matches you should be wary of this weekend but we have highlighted some and their alternatives.

Bayern Munich might play a depleted side against Union Berlin, with the Champions League return leg against PSG in their sights amidst lots of injury worries. Be wary of a Bayern win which comes at around 1.5. But the game should still produce goals. Over 2.5 could be safe.

Same goes for Borussia Dortmund, who have been poor in the Bundesliga, by their standards. They have a tricky away game at Stuttgart. It is also a game that should produce goals. Avoid a Dortmund away win.

PSG are valued at around 1.7 to win a match in Ligue 1, that should tell you something. They go away to Strasbourg, with the Champions League also in their sights. You should also go for goals in this one.

BOALD CALL

West Ham and Leicester are jostling for Champions League places. They play at the London stadium this weekend, with both in good form. West Ham are due a bad result and the signs are there. Expect Leicester to avenge the first leg defeat. If you are Boald go for a Leicester away win at around 2.4.

Kelechi Iheanacho and his teammates should find joy at the Olympics stadium

We have supplied the passes, put your finishing touches to score the goal. Wish you a green weekend. When you win, pay your tithes here.

Boald Codes: North London Derby, Seville Derby and Other Predictions

Congratulations to those that have followed our calls in the last few weeks, majority of which came through. Just that you have not been paying your tithes here.

We go again. We have gone through the weekend matches to pick the Bankers. They should come through if the players don’t decide to help bookies chop your money. We have the Banana Peels, the matches you should avoid. Some times we are wrong, most times we are correct, you can read previous editions to confirm. Then we chose our Boald Call, only for the brave. Let’s get into our picks for this week.

Bankers

Leicester are valued at around 1.5 for a home win against Sheffield. Sheffield are all but relegated, Leicester are doing all to hold on to a top-four place. Leicester should benefit from a whole week of rest. Go for a Leicester win.

Kelechi Iheanacho is in good form for Leicester

Crystal Palace defeated West Brom 5-1 in the first leg. Both sides are struggling, Crystal Palace have not produced that sort of goals scoring performance again since. West Brom have changed manager since then and are more disciplined defensively. It is a match that will struggle for goals. Under 3.5 comes at around 1.2.

Real Madrid should win at home against struggling Elche. It comes at around 1.24. Or you could go for Real Madrid to win either half.

For the Seville Derby, Sevilla have gone off the boil in recent weeks but should still do enough to avoid defeat at home against Real Betis. Sevilla double chance comes at around 1.2. It is usually a game of goals, you could also go for over 1.5.

Borussia Dortmund, basking from qualifying for the Quarter-finals of the Champions League should win at home against Hertha Berlin or produce an over 2.5. Both comes at around 1.5.

In France, PSG should win at home against Nantes. It comes at around 1.2.

Mbappe and co should get the job done against Nantes

In Russia, leaders Zenit St. Petersburg have struggled since resumption, but should win at home against 11th placed Akhmat, who have lost their last two.

In Turkey, third-placed Fenerbahçe should win at home against bottom-placed Genclerbirligi. It comes at around 1.2.

Benfica are unbeaten in their last six in the Portuguese league, they play at home against 14th placed Boavista. Benfica should win, it comes at around 1.3.

In Uganda, third-placed Express should win at home against Kyetume, who are 13th. Express won the reverse fixture away from home. Express win comes at around 1.3.

In the NPFL, go for Dakkada to win at home against Katsina United, it comes at 1.30.

Banana Peels

If you can, avoid the North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. Both team’s inconsistencies makes it difficult to predict how the tie will shape up.

The London Derby looks finely poised

Be careful with Werder Bremen against Bayern Munich, especially for a Bayern win. A safe bet might be goals. Werder Bremen have lost just one of their last seven.

Cagliari vs Juventus could be tricky. Cagliari are in the relegation zone but have avoided defeat in their last three. They also won this tie last season. Juventus may also still be struggling from the hangover of their Champions League ouster.

Boald Call

In France, fourth-placed Monaco host leaders Lille. If you are brave, go for a Lille win at around 3.2. Both sides are in good form, though Monaco lost their last match. It could go either ways but Lille win is worth risking.

Those are our picks for this week. Wishing you the luck of the green as you bet responsibly.

Can Mourinho Lead Tottenham to Premier league Glory?

After eleven matches in the Premier league, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham sits top of the table. Bar some teams that have played one match less, we are close to a third of the season. Tottenham are looking like they are equipped for their first Premier League title, following in the footsteps of Liverpool, who also broke their Premier league duck last season. With the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City on their trail, can the Lillywhites see their title charge through this time?

Tottenham are in the title race

Tottenham came close a number of times with Mauriccio Pochettino in charge. They ended up third in the 2015/16 season when Leicester defied the odds to win the title, Tottenham were in the race with them for a long time, till they dropped out. In some other cases, they have shown signs they could be up for the title but they always come up short. They also got to the Champions League final in 2018. They have been nearly men for some time.

Pochettino was close some number of times

However, there is a difference this time – Jose Mourinho. They have a manager that has won league titles before. He has won the league title at every club he has been at bar Manchester United. When Pochettino was sacked last season, despite his good job at the club, there were signs he may have taken them as far as he could. Constant qualification for the Champions League and being in the mix as one of the big boys. It is believed that Mourinho is the manager that can take Tottenham to the next level.

So far this season, they are playing with all the swagger of a potential champion. they have taken the scalp of the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal without breaking a sweat. They have also forced Chelsea to a goalless game at the Stamford Bridge. Like a typical Mourinho winning team, they are stable defensively and brutal in attack. Harry Kane and So Heung Min are the most potent attacking duo in the league today, they are players playing on top of their games. As we have seen so far, they can put any league team to the sword. In defence, they are finding balance. Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier are becoming a potent defensive pair, Sergio Reguillon and Serge Aurier are looking assured at full-back. Than the individuals in the defence, they are building a strong defensive structure, little wonder young Joe Rondon stepped in for the injured Alderweireld in central defence against Chelsea and they still kept a clean sheet. One of the keys to their defensive structure is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has slotted into the midfield and given the team stability, a typical Mourinho player who works his socks off, winning the ball and keeping it simple and tidy in possession.

Mourinho could take Spurs a notch higher

Agreed, they have ingredients of a title winning team. What could stop them?

They don’t look like they have enough quality cover for their first team players, which is important for a title winning team. They could struggle for good enough replacement if one or both of Kane and Son gets injured. As stated earlier, Hojbjerg is very important, can they replace him if he gets injured?

Beyond Tottenham, the performances of some of the other contenders is a huge factor. Liverpool had 97 points two seasons back and still did not win the league. A haul that could have won them the title in every other Premier League season. Jose’s men may still fall short because some teams can do better. We know the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City can still take it notches higher. They are not faraway for now, even with some of their key players out. Tottenham may not be able to stop them when they get into full flow. Chelsea are also looking good, they look like a team that could be better than Spurs.

Son and Kane are the best attacking duo in the Premier League

There are signs Mourinho has gotten the perfect blend for his team. How to tackle the lesser opponents and the bigger teams. They look like they will be difficult to beat. In the opinion of this writer, Tottenham will do well but will end up short because the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City are more equipped and have what it takes to usurp Tottenham. Mourinho could still lead Spurs to glory but glory won’t be the Premier League title this season.

Boald Codes: Chelsea, Bayern and other Betting Tips for the Weekend

Christmas is coming, everybody dey find money. Just as you are picking those games and believing that you will win some money for detty December, the betting companies are also waiting to receive your money for their Christmas bonus. If you have been careful before, you have to be extra careful now. Especially with how some expected sure teams have been falling short. Last weekend was red, o bad gan. We have tried selecting some games but most especially give you tips, which you should consider following.

The North London derby is the biggest match of the weekend

Bankers

Many things being equal, these results should come through. They are the ones we can bank our money on. Also because the odds are good.

In form Chelsea host Leeds United at the Stamford Bridge. Leeds, usually involved in high scoring matches have had better defensive records in their last two matches, keeping two clean sheets and scoring one in their last two. However, things should be different against Chelsea. Trust a goals game, over 2.5 comes at about over 1.5.

In La Liga, second-placed Atletico Madrid will host 17th placed Real Valladolid. You can trust Atletico to win, it comes at around 1.4.

Big game in Germany, Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig. It is first vs second. Bayern always win this sort of games. You can go for a Bayern win at around 1.4. If you are scared of that, you can also go for goals, over 2.5.

In Italy, there is the Turin Derby. It is a derby Juventus always win. Juve have struggled without Ronaldo. Ronaldo should play and Juve should win. It comes at around 1.4.

Banana Peels

AC Milan are due a bad result. They go away to Sampdoria, it is a tricky match. AC Milan are top in Serie A, Sampdoria are 11th on the table. If you can, avoid staking an AC Milan win.

Montpellier vs PSG. You can avoid a PSG win. PSG will have their sight on the Champions League match in mid-week. They may not be putting their best foot forward.

Tottenham host Arsenal in the North London derby. The Lillywhites are in good form but it is the type of derby you will want to stay away from. Expect Arteta to set up Arsenal to be compact. Also with some sketchy news on the available players, it is better to stay off this match.

Boald Call

Parma vs Benevento is 16th vs 15th in the Serie A. Parma have a nack of providing shock results. A win against Benvento should not be much of a shocker, the odd is around 2.0, go for it if you are bold.

In the CAF Champions League qualifiers, Stade Malien host Ashanti GB. They won the first leg away from home. You can trust them to finish the job.

Generally, look at the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup qualifiers. A lot of strong teams are at home and they come at good odds.

May the gods of betting favour you this weekend. As we say, bet responsibly and hold the teams and players responsible if it goes south. If you win, send your tithes to us, make we sef do Christmas.

Pundits Roundtable: Joseph Bassey, Edwin Onyebolise and Patrick Echatah Joins Us To Preview Chelsea vs. Tottenham

Chelsea taking on Tottenham at the Stamford Bridge has a lot riding on it. It is looking like a potential title six-pointer based on the forms of both teams. Jose Mourinho takes on his former player Frank Lampard, against his former team – Chelsea.

We are joined by Joseph, Patrick and Edwin

Top class Pundits – Joseph Bassey, Edwin Onyebolise and Patrick Echatah joins us for a comprehensive preview.

GB: How do you expect the tie to shape up tactically?

Joseph: The dynamics of this game is a bit hard to predict because Mourinho places emphasis on defensive structure especially in big games while Lampard’s defensive line is finally looks right with six clean sheets in eight games. Both managers could adopt a more pragmatic line-up.

Patrick: This season, Mourinho has found a way to galvanize this Spurs side with so much tactical flexibility (depending on the game) and two of his preferred formations have been 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, while Lampard has stuck with 4-3-3 which gives his midfielders more leeway to stamp their authority in the middle of the park.

Edwin: It’s clearly contrasting styles from both managers. Jose’s teams sits deep and hits you on the counter.

Lampard can mix it. Possession, playing between the lines and hitting on the counter-attack.

Another Lampard-Mourinho reunion

GB: Both sides have had good starts. Do you think they are both in the title race?

Joseph: Hard to come up with any reason why they are not title contenders; the season has been anything but straightforward. Liverpool’s injury crisis has automatically opened up a title race.

Patrick: Of course, Chelsea have been all guns blazing while Spurs look absolutely unstoppable. Early days yet, but these two sides are arguably the best teams in the league on current form.

Edwin: Yes both are. They’ve built momentum with some very good wins. It breeds confidence. Also, there’s quality in both teams.

GB: Lampard has had the better of Mourinho on head-to-head. Do you think this will be playing out on Mourinho’s mind?

Joseph: Not just playing in his mind, probably giving Mourinho sleepless nights. Jose Mourinho is the most competitive manager in the game, winning is all that is important to him and a bad head-to-head against a player he coached would be an unbearable pain.

Patrick: No, Mourinho is a top manager who knows that it’s only a matter of time before he gets one over Lampard.

Edwin: It will. There was a fallout between both managers during the League Cup match earlier in the season. There’s a subtle feud brewing. Lampard did the double last season and Jose will want his revenge.

Mourinho will be looking to get one over his former player and team.

GB: Key battles

Joseph: Timo Werner and Harry Kane is an interesting battle- arguably the most important piece of both teams’ attack, playing like a de-facto number 10, dropping deep to create spaces for the other forwards. How well both players execute that role will be a big determinant of the result.

Patrick: Werner Vs Aurier, Hojberg Vs. Kante, Kane Vs. Zouma, Ziyech Vs. Reguilon and Son Vs. Chilwell.

Edwin: The real battle is in the midfield. Spurs have grit and power. Chelsea have technique and finesse. The team that controls the midfield controls the game.

GB: Call it

Joseph: This looks like a draw written all over it.

Patrick: Two-nil in favor of Spurs.

Edwin: Chelsea to win. They have extra depth in attack than Spurs

Boald Codes: Betting Tips for the Weekend

If you lose money, hold the players responsible. However, we have a 70% average success rate, check our previous editions to confirm.

Bankers

Norwich are at home against Coventry in the English Championship. The Canaries are in good form and are top of the table. They come at around 1.6 for a win. Though they will be without Emiliano Buendia, who is out suspended, they still have enough to get a win.

Bayern did Amaka last week, expect hem to atone this week. They come at around 1.3 to win away at Stuttgart. Trust them to win. You could also include Robert Lewandowski on your goals scorer ticket.

Borussia Monchengladbach are at home against struggling Schalke 04. They are valued at around 1.3. Gladbach are in good form, off the back of another impressive win in the Champions League. Trust them for a win.

Atalanta are back to winning ways. They should beat Verona at home. It comes at around 1.3.

Juventus away to Benevento is also around 1.3 for a Juve win. This are the sort of matches were Cristiano Ronaldo shows. A Juventus win should come and also Ronaldo to score.

Ronaldo should have a filled day

Lyon to win at home against Reims is around 1.4. Lyon should do enough to win against a Reims side that have struggled.

In South Africa, defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns host Stellenbosch FC. Sundowns are valued at 1.4 for a win. Too good to ignore.

The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona should also win their home matches against Alaves and Osasuna respectively.

Banana Peels

Brighton and Hove Albion host Liverpool at the Amex. Be careful. Not just because Liverpool lost in midweek against Atalanta, but because Brighton know how to be difficult in this sort of matches. They could be very organised and deny Liverpool the spaces.

Real Sociedad host Villareal at the Anoeta. Sociedad are top of the table and have been impressive. However Villareal have not been bad either. Sociedad are without David Silva, who is out injured. If you must, play an Under 3.5. Both teams will likely cancel each other out and struggle for goals.

Sassuolo have had a good start to the season, they host Inter Milan this weekend. Antonio Conte is under some pressure at Inter Milan and Sassuolo have proven to be difficult opponents in the past.

AC Milan host Fiorentina at the San Siro. AC Milan are top of the table, Fiorentina have struggled. AC Milan to win comes at around 1.7, avoid it. Fiorentina have a knack of showing up in big matches are Milan are without talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Boald Calls

If you get mind, back Atletico Madrid to win away at Valencia. Atletico Madrid are unbeaten and in good form, Valencia defeated the other Madrid side Real Madrid some weeks back. Regardless, they will find Atletico Madrid a more difficult proposition.

Chelsea vs Tottenham is the big match of the weekend, both teams are in good form. If you are Boald go for a Chelsea win. Lampard has a good record against Jose Mourinho and Chelsea have the players to expose Tottenham’s defence. It comes at around 2.0.

Lampard versus Mourinho once again.

That’s all on these edition. If you win, don’t forget to send your tithe here. If you don’t win, hold the players responsible. Bet responsibly.

Pundits Roundtable: Ivan Dougan and Tope Adepoju join us to Preview Man. United vs Tottenham

On this edition of Pundits Roundtable, Tomiwa Ojo is joined by seasoned pundits Ivan Dougan and Tope Adepoju to preview Sunday’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and Tottenham.

Tope and Ivan join us to preview the Super Sunday clash

Jose Mourinho will be looking to get one over his former side at Old Trafford. Our pundits sank their teeth into it.

GB: It has not been a convincing start to the season for both sides. How do you expect both coaches to approach this tactically?

Ivan: I expect Ole to continue with the trend of ceding possession against the big teams and relying on the pace of his forwards and passing range, creativity of his midfielders. However, Jose Mourinho as well wouldn’t mind doing same so, tactically, both managers could have the same game plan.

Tomiwa: I expect both sides to deploy a defence first approach. They will both want to play on the counter. I expect it to be decided by fine margins – like set pieces. I hope we won’t be treated to a bore fest. I expect the first half to be cagey, we may see a more expansive second half.

Tope: I think United will probably edge the midfield battle which means they will probably control the game a little bit more. However, it will be interesting to see how they can break Spurs’ defence.

Jose Mourinho on the other hand usually set up his team to keep his opponents at bay especially in the away fixtures while banking on the likes of Kane and Son to do the damage on the break.

GB: How do you see the absence of Son Heung Min affecting Spurs? Considering he is their topscorer in the PL this season.

Ivan: He’s going to be a huge miss. He creates, scores, puts in a good shift defensively and has the ability to determine the outcome of a game. They will lack some bite going forward and his early season partnership with Kane has been good. His absence could set Spurs back.

Tomiwa: He will be a big miss. Very important for Mourinho’s men, especially when they set up to play on the counter. Kane could cut a lonely figure without him. However with the likes of maybe Bergwijn or Moura expected to replace him, they could have their days as we have seen in the past.

Tope: 4 goals against Southampton, formed a decent partnership with Harry Kane. Of course Son’s absence is a huge miss for Tottenham.

He would have been licking his lips at the prospect of facing Wan Bissaka who has been poor this season. In Son’s absence, Steven Bergwijn might be deputising.

The Dutchman has had sparks here and there but hasn’t been consistent. Hopefully he seizes his opportunity on Sunday.

GB: Solskjaer replaced Mourinho at United. Do you think United have really improved under Solskjaer?

Ivan: United haven’t really improved under Ole.

Tomiwa: I don’t think much has changed, apart from the’Manchester United family’ liking Ole more. The difference is like that between half of a dozen and six.

Tope: Finishing 33 points behind Liverpool and losing out in the semi finals of the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League is no improvement.

GB: Key battles.

Ivan: Kane vs Maguire and Lindelof, Doherty vs Rashford, Bruno vs Dier.

Tomiwa: Kane vs Lindelof/Bailly, Kane will fancy playing off the shoulder of whoever Ole chooses to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence. I expect him to come in from the left to his right foot often. Greenwood vs Reguillon will also be interesting to watch.

Tope: Horgberg v Bruno Fernandes.

Signing Horgberg was a smart buy for Spurs. The Lilywhites have been screaming for a player who can protect the back line, win the 50/ 50 balls and give the team some sort of balance and he has been good but seeing him up against United most creative player in Bruno Fernandes will be very keen to see.

The Portuguese can also score goals. Should be an interesting battle.

GB: Call it

Ivan: A draw.

Tomiwa: A bore draw.

Tope: Man United 1 – 1 Spurs
